Located in the midlands region of KwaZulu Natal, Mooi River is a farming and textile hub. Originally named Lawrenceville after the Irish farmer who formalised its
settlement during the 1800s, the village took its enduring moniker from the
Voortrekker description of its river. An abundance of outdoor
related activities are on offer within close proximity to the town and fantastic boating and flyfishing opportunities are offered along stretches of the Mooi River.
Renowned World Class Stud Farms, including Summerhill, can be found nestled in the spectacular Midlands landscape. Visits to these
studs can be organised by prior arrangement.
